School staff performance evaluations

The Indiana Department of Education released staff performance results for the 2013-14 school year. The numbers - for teachers, principals and other educators - show those who are highly effective, effective, needing improvement, ineffective and those excluded for a variety of reasons.

Because the evaluation process differs among districts, it is difficult to compare schools.

Many educators were excluded because of death or retirement or because of contract rules. In addition, the Education Department did not include schools if there were fewer than 10 educators reported.

This is the second year for the data and first to include charter schools.
